Ah, summer in North Central Massachusetts. Just the thought of it brings to mind all that the region is known for – hiking to scenic mountain vistas, walking the charming country roads, swimming or paddleboarding on refreshing local ponds and lakes.

Long days, lots of sunshine and an ice cream treat at one of North Central Massachusetts’ many well know ice cream stands and farms – from Kimball Farm in Lancaster to Rota Spring in Sterling and plenty more in between.

Outdoor dining, backyard barbecues and firepits, family picnics in one of the popular parks throughout the region – images of summer abound in North Central Massachusetts. Farmers Markets are regular summer events in many towns, along with outdoor band concerts on town greens throughout North Central Massachusetts.

Golf at one of the area’s many public courses. From the world-famous “International” in Bolton to the popular Gardner Municipal Course – there are 10 beautiful courses to choose from. There are also tennis and pickleball courts throughout the region. Bikers and joggers enjoy casual rides, runs or training for a road race. Drive to the top of Wachusett Mountain for a 360-degree four-state view of southern New England.

With the longer days and warmer nights, summer offers plenty of time to enjoy all the splendor of North Central Massachusetts.
