The Most Wonderful Time of the Year 2014

  • Visit North Central

The holidays are still alive and well here in Appleseed Country! With our early snowfall this year, it’s a winter wonderland. And below are some ways to still help you get in that Christmas Spirit.

From snow showers and twinkling lights in the Grand Lobby to gingerbread houses and enormous snowflakes, discover the magical world of Snowland this holiday season at Great Wolf Lodge. Come see this indoor snowy wonderland where kids can experience the magic of the holidays throughout the month of December complete with Santa, gingerbread houses, arts and crafts, and of course snow from the ceilings. Starting on November 29th, the snow falls daily at 10am, 8pm, and 9pm. Also, come see the Gingerbread House. Make your holidays a little sweeter when you dine inside GWL’s life-size gingerbread house for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

And Santa is STILL in Appleseed Country. On December 20th, he will be at Wachusett Mountain for the Polar Express Holiday Celebration. Enjoy a day full of activities including skiing and riding, arts and crafts, holiday balloon creations by Tracey McFee, and a showing of the Polar Express movie. There will be plenty of hot chocolate, Polar Beverages and tasty treats to keep you smiling, and you might even catch a glimpse of Wachusett’s own “Orson” the Polar Bear. For more information, visit www.wachusett.com. And on the 21st, he will be at Trinity Congregational Church, 125 Rollstone St., Fitchburg at 10:30 am. Everyone is invited to the Children’s Christmas Pageant with an appearance by Santa Claus giving gifts (bring one wrapped, labeled gift for your child downstairs before the service if you like).

Tower Hill Holly Days 2014: Winter Reimagined the month of December. Wander through glittering indoor displays and illuminated trees and shrubs in the Orchard, Entry, Lawn and Winter Gardens. A giant Bromeliad tree, hundreds of poinsettias, more than 1,500 hand-crafted ornaments and over six miles of lights make this a unique holiday experience for all ages.
